Vertical Milling Machine Sourcing

This page states who owns each decision when requesting factory quotes. Vertical Milling Machine Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. We collect envelope, utilities and destination, then ask manufacturers to confirm feasibility. We do not own a machine shop and we do not sell as a brand-appointed reseller. Decision ownership stays with the buyer’s purchase file, not with a catalog screenshot.

Decision ownership

The buyer owns the workpiece definition, the plant interfaces and the acceptance decision. The coordinator organizes comparable questions. The supplier confirms what the quoted vertical milling machine will actually include and how the trial cut will be run.
Decision ownership: Equipment scope
The buyer writes table travel, quill and knee numbers if already frozen, or the largest workpiece and fixture stack if they are not. Spindle speed in rpm and continuous power in HP are buyer comparison fields; the factory maps them to a motor and pulley or inverter. Spindle taper and clamping accessories must be named by the buyer as needed or left as a question for the supplier. A CNC machining-center envelope is not assumed. Work envelope and footprint during full table travel belong in this brief, along with three-phase supply and any compressed air demand for a drawbar.
Price exclusions
Do not assume vises, collets, coolant, power feeds, DRO, installation or training sit inside a base mill price. Ask which spare parts ship with the crate. Certification documents, if required for the destination, are requested from the named factory; they are not this website’s credentials. Shipping and site rigging are separate cost boundaries unless the quotation text folds them in.
Response basis
Ask factories to quote against the same fixture height and tool length, and to state which axes include power feeds or digital readout. Geometry checks after a representative cut should be described as methods (indicator, test bar, or agreed print dimensions), not as a guaranteed positioning tolerance from this service. Duty cycle is hours of milling versus idle, not a promised parts-per-hour figure.

Remaining buyer input: quantity, destination, delivery window, available three-phase supply, connected load limit, PLC interface if the plant already has one, and optional budget with currency and per-unit or whole-order basis plus supplier preference.
